Pomelo privacy policy
PaperCloud Studios · Effective 21 October 2026
Files and conversion
Pomelo processes the images, documents, video and audio you select locally on your Mac. It does not upload file contents to PaperCloud Studios or a conversion service. It creates new output files and leaves originals unchanged. It uses private temporary working copies during conversion and removes them when a job finishes or fails. A local recovery journal identifies unfinished working folders for cleanup when Pomelo next opens and those folders are accessible.
You choose the files and output locations. Files saved in iCloud Drive or another synced folder may be synchronized by that service under its own settings.
Information stored on your Mac
Pomelo stores preferences, tutorial completion and folder permissions locally. It uses macOS security-scoped bookmarks to remember folders you authorize. The seven-day trial starts automatically on first open. Its dates are kept in an app-specific local Keychain record; paid access uses verified App Store transactions.
Pomelo keeps the latest job’s filenames, file locations and outcomes locally so you can locate your copies and inspect errors after reopening. A new job replaces that record. Help → Privacy → Clear latest result removes this history without deleting your original or output files.
Desktop shortcut permission
A macOS permission enables the desktop shortcut (System Settings > Privacy & Security > Device Control and Data Access on macOS 27, or Accessibility on earlier versions). Pomelo observes modifier-key and pointer events to detect the gesture and file drag. It does not record typed text, screenshots or a history of your input events, and it does not send those events to PaperCloud Studios. You can pause the shortcut in Pomelo or revoke permission in System Settings.
App Store purchases
Apple handles App Store authentication, payments and transaction services. Pomelo receives product access information to verify the paid unlock. It does not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password. These Apple services are covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Analytics and tracking
The native Pomelo app does not contain developer analytics, advertising, tracking or a third-party crash-reporting service. Optional system diagnostics are controlled by macOS and Apple.
This website and support
The website’s sample-file demo processes its bundled examples in your browser. The site is hosted by Vercel, which receives technical request information such as an IP address to deliver and secure the website. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
If you use the Pomelo contact form, the information you choose to send, such as your name, email and message, is used to respond and provide support. That form uses Formspree to deliver messages. Please do not include confidential files or payment details. See Formspree’s privacy policy.
